Thomas F. Dapp ist Researcher, Speaker und Autor rund um den Themenkomplex „Digitaler Strukturwandel“. Seit 2017 verantwortet er den neu geschaffenen Think Tank im Chief Digital Office der KfW Bankengruppe in Frankfurt am Main und analysiert das Einsatzpotential digitaler Trends und Technologien im Bankensektor. Davor war er von 2008 bis 2016 als volkswirtschaftlicher Analyst bei Deutsche Bank Research (Deutsche Bank AG) in Frankfurt am Main beschäftigt und publizierte zahlreiche Studien, Artikel und Blogbeiträge.

Thomas F. Dapp absolvierte berufsbegleitend Forschungsprojekte in Washington DC und Berlin zum Thema „Innovationskraft digitaler Plattformen/Ökosysteme“. Seit 2018 ist er Mitglied des Investmentkomitee des High-Tech-Gründerfonds (HTGF) und doziert seit 2020 regelmäßig an der Dualen Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (DHBW) in Karlsruhe. Seine derzeitigen Schwerpunktthemen sind die API- und Token Economy, die damit einhergehende Konvergenz beider trendhaften Entwicklungen sowie das dahinter verborgene Potential bestehende Geschäftsmodelle grundlegend zu verändern.
