Dr. Dennis Hänsel

Dr. Dennis Haensel joined DWS in 2006 and serves as Head of ESG Advisory & ESG Product Methodology. Together with his team, he is responsible for the ESG investment advisory of our institutional clients / large distribution partners, the Methodology of ESG signals of active retail products, as well as the consideration and disclosure of regulatory ESG requirements. Furthermore, Dennis is co-chair of the ESG Methodology Board, leading the Net Zero ambitions inside the Product Division and, together with the investment platform as well as Product Specialists, he is responsible for the ESG investment offering/ product design. His team also advises institutional investors, especially pension funds, on the topics of sustainability integration aligned with client specific ESG targets as well as individualized Net Zero solutions.  After studying business administration at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Dennis Haensel received his doctorate at the Chair of Credit Management and Finance. In addition, Dr. Dennis Haensel was a lecturer at the Frankfurt School of Finance and currently he is a lecturer at the DVFA Academy. Furthermore, Dennis is involved with BVI and EFAMA committees that work to integrate sustainability into asset managers’ businesses through the integration of ESG considerations into investment decisions, as well as regulatory disclosure.
